I used kayak in order to find the best price for a hotel in Aruba. However, kayak is only a search engine and redirected me to another site. I should have paid more attention, but thought kayak was a reliable search engine and continued with my booking. Everything was good. Then about a month before our trip my husband and I look through our details and had to change our trip due to Covid-19, we tried to cancel through kayak and it would not let us because it was through a third party website. It turns out the website that kayak redirected us to was a scam and we lost $1,200. Please do not use kayak, use google search or anything but from my experience, it does not look like kayak does it research on the companies it sends you to.

The prices seem great while your on there website. Then you get to the airport or rental service, and they add on all there fees on top of that! I read all the terms and conditions...(I actually read them.) I checked to see about extra fees about being a 24, (25 in 10 days), driver, and it said nothing. Also, website said you could use your debt card to make the payment. I get to the airport to pick-up my rental, and the company wanted to charge me an extra $300 to use my husbands credit card for the pending charges they wanted to make, and making him the primary driver. (He was going out of town, hence why I wanted to rent a vehicle.) Also another $300 just so i could drive as a "secondary driver" even though I was the only one driving. The website should be more specific...I cancelled my reservation because the total was coming out around $1,100 dollars instead of the $586. So the $14/$15 dollar a day rental turned into $100's a day. Going through a 3rd party seems cheaper at first until you reach the company your renting from, THEN COMES TO FEES!!! When I put in my drivers license there should be some kind of information about the fees with that company as well so people arent surprised when they go to pick up there car! I knew I would have some fees being almost 25 but an extra $600 to use my husbands credit card while were both getting hit with 'underage' fees is ABSURD! Also the added insurance I bought through Kayak only offers so much coverage. Your better off using your own, because the car rental company still charges you extra money a day to cover the car..Or just make more money. This is why renting a darn car is so expensive. I'll stick with an Uber when I'm out of town. Even when I am 25....

Legit just stole 170 dollars from me!

I booked a flight on their site for Frontier flight from Phoenix to LAX for my favorite cousin funeral next morning leave Phoenix@6:23pm I arrive at gate at 6:20 attendant tells me flight left 10 min ago. No other flights out of there from any other airlines. I never received and email ticket phone confirmation nothing just screenshot my info after I entered my card info to pay for flight. So call customer service after probing extremely rude frontier worker that didn't want to give me frontier customer service number. She was telling me to "Google it"... all in front of everyone. So I said wow ok I know I can google anything but your an employee just thought would ask. Anyways called customer service after all that it's a holiday Juneteenth I guess so nobody working. Now again I never got an email or phone confirmation still. Call customer service next morning to explain to them I'm also not usually a flyer so don't know gotta get there way earlier. Again never got an email nothing. Call customer service next morning they say I can't get a refund my "Ticket has lost its value. Sorry ". So I'm like ok. I can't can't get anything a credit for future flight nothing? They tell me no. Sorry after being hung up on and waiting on their oversees customer service that could care less about any Americans problem or any lost loved ones funeral for that matter. This company is a nightmare! Would never book thru them again... spend your hard earned money on business that appreciate you as a customer and preferably American based customer service definitely matters Be nice to speak with someone who would actually understand me!

Stay away from Wilderness System kayaks.

Steve Klein
I would recommend not to buy Wilderness system kayaks(Outdoor Confluence). They have horrible customer service and don't stand behind their product. I bought a Pamlico tandem and now this is my 3rd season with it. I nearly sank my kayak the 2nd time out this year ruining my photography equipment. There was a hole in the stern where the plastic was thin. They can have manufactoring defects due to the process of rotomoulding if pellets don't distribute properly. I called customer service who said they only have a 1 yr hull warantee. I then took it to the dealer I bought it from (Kayak Warehouse in Amsterdam NY) who said the plastic was too thin compared to normal. They then made a claim to wilderness or outdoor confluence who said if there are any drag marks they will not make things right. I don't know about you but usually during customary use there will be some drag marks but nothing that should affect the integrity of the product. I forgot to mention the kayak handles coming loose and need for using loctite on as well as the side slide rail coming apart in year 2 of having the kayak.
I have 2 Old Town kayaks for over 20 years each with no problems. They have a real lifetime warantee on their hulls and they back it, unlike wilderness systems. I also own Pyranhna and Hobie kayaks which have never had problems.
BEWARE of buying kayak products from Wilderness Systems . The lack of customer service is horrendous. This is probably true for all the other brands made under the name of Outdoor Confluence.

The WORST customer service ever. Do not book with them

Bought a ticket through KAYAK, the airline moved the date forward, making it useless for me. Now nobody can give my money back. Finnair says it wasn't booked through them, KAYAK says they did not book it (I have the receipt from them, confirmation number and all), can't get to anyone at KAYAK who would tell me what the third party is or even try to be helpful.

HOURS down the drain. Their insurance company won't have anything to do with this either, I basically can't get my money back at all, they just keep saying it's not the situation they cover. Really? I guess they need to look up "insurance" in the dictionary, I am going to report them to the commissioner for sure.

the worse experience I have had

the worse experience I have had. don ever! ever consider booking with them. my flight was canceled and they never communicated with me. I went to the airport and missed my flight today. I have been on call for almost 4 hours stranded in an airport with no response from them. they keep dropping my calls and have not offered any sensible alternatives.

Awful Customer Service

Absolutely awful customer service. No one I talked to had up-to-date information on my booking. Multiple missing emails from my communications with customer service. No supervisors were available to respond to requests. I had to be the one to find out that the booking had been canceled multiple times with no communication from the company. The only way they found out that my flight had been canceled was when I called them and told them. Completely useless. Do not book with this website. They will take your money and give you nothing for it.

KAYAK IS PURE CLICKBAIT!! BEWARE!

Tried multiple times to book an advertised flight, only to have it say “the flight is no longer available” or “the price has changed”. They’re using CLICKBAIT to get you to book through their sponsored companies. You start out thinking “oh, good price, and it’s through kayak.” Nope. While a good search engine, they’re just looking for money and using FAKE prices to do so.

Kayak helped me a lot with deciding…

Kayak helped me a lot with deciding what airline to use and figuring out the best deals. Was able to book and confirm no problems. Although, I’d look out for certain third party websites they have on there. Always read reviews for the third parties and trust your gut. So far, good experiences!

Kayak helped resolve issue with eDreams' I purchased from Kayak's website

I searched a fare from Kayak.com and found the best one on eDreams. I made the purchase from eDreams, but when the airline issued the ticket, part of it was in a different booking class than the original one. This was due to error from eDreams. Their customer service was miserable. I finally reached out to Kayak. They helped me and eDreams refunded the fare difference. Thank you Kayak and thank you eDreams for resolving this issue.

I would give 0 stars if I could. They stole our money

We booked a flight through Kayak and it has been a nightmare ever since. First they charged our card 400 extra dollars for no reason! Then when we went to check in to fly home we found out that someone at kayak used our confirmation code and canceled our flight home. Leaving my family (with 2 small children) scrambling to find a way home. We never got an email saying your tickets were canceled, we never got our money back. We had to pay an extra 1000 dollars and 4 hours on the phone to try and fly our family home! I will be looking into this company more and look into legal action against them! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE KAYAK!

Rip off

I booked a flight in May of 2020 for a family member on Kayak it booked it on FinAir.
I needed to change the dates due to family member receiving cancer treatment. I tried so hard to get hold of Kayak as well as FINAIR neither has customer service number or it doesn't work. There is no way to reach either one in case you need to change. The airline website even does not work. I can't believe Kayak can stay in business like that by ripping people off their money. Needless to say on top of our misery we lost $407.0. I will never use Kayak again or FINAIR. Stay away from both.

Occasionally the airlines may offer a cheaper ticket, but this is uncommon. I find that occasionally at Qatar airlines. This may occasionally happen if you have their club membership that may offer a discount.

Kayak.com is a legit company. I have bought dozens or tickets from their site. I always start search from them. In one case, they helped me even though I purchased a ticket from one of the vendors on their website who would not help me.
